This clip was posted in another thread:

Now, the "kali is the only anwer" comment aside, I believe this clip shows realistic multiple attacker scenarios with, realistic outcomes.

Not perfect mind you and I certainly do NOT meanfor this to be a Multiples VS Grappler debate.

Lets try to keep "threories" and "what if's" to a minimum ok?

And only post another clip IF it is in line with this one.

Awesome clip, just watch the entire thing before commenting. If you only watch half you are bound to sound dumb.

Weapons are a harsh reality that most forget when dealing with Multiple attackers.

Is it even possible to throw a knife like he does and cause damage? I mean, when he throws it with his arm hanging limp.

Missing the point eh?

Getting the point, just wondering about that particular throw, knowing squat about knife fighting.

Lets not lose sight of the point of this thread with knife throwing, ok?

All I can say is it brings a reality no one who teaches muiltiple attackers situations would ever consider or want to discuss for that matter. If you had to say to your students that if you're jumped by one guy in the time you took to realise and make a life saving decision to escape you would be stabbed by the guys friend. At leats thats the way I looked at the vid.

The first scenario I have seen over and over again, too many times actually.

Dude, does seem to have an endless supply of knives on his person.

Aside from that, he is forgetting to do one of the most basic things when being presented with multiples. SCREAM your ass of.

Well it did until it got to the halfway mark and the attackers started moving slower and locking up. Look at 1:48 - the guy calmly watches the knife draw and allows his throat to be slit.

Having a weapon is great, but I'd hate for people to expect it to be that easy.

Because getting hit in the jaw with your mouth open is a good thing.

Don't count on help, in an ideal world perhaps, but last time I checked, we don't live there.

Wow, kill yourself now. You clearly didn't watch the WHOLE clip or your comprehension is at about the 2nd grade level. Your reference at 1:48 is a slowed down and LABELED technique example; after 4 or 5 slow techniques he picks the pace up again and does all those at full speed.

Keen observation, IDIOT!

Here's another example of thier concepts:
http://www.atienzakali.com/pages/videogallery2.html

One big difference between the failed sets and the success sets is an issue of proactiveness. In the failed sets, the defender almost always waits for the attack to take place. In the second set the defender almost always takes physical initiative first.

On the throwing thing, the issue is not so much damage as surprise. One thing I don't like about these demos (note that they are demos) is that the defender "stays in", keeps the fight going in order to knife all of the attackers. In reality as soons as there is an opening they should be running. Therefore all the throw needs to do is create an opening (ie. the "oh **** did a knife just get thrown into my groin???!!!" pause - regardless if the knife is stuck in there or not).

All I can say is it brings a reality no one who teaches muiltiple attackers situations would ever consider or want to discuss for that matter.I'm not sure I understand this comment. Some of the Kali and RBSD work I've done is specifically about these types of situations. In fact folks like Blauer, Thompson, the Sayoks, and Gaje have done extensive work on this type of situation.

A valid point.
Ideally, the best you can hope for in a mulitple attacker situation, IF you manage to anticipate it, is to create and opening to GTFO !! ( Get The **** Out foe those that don't habla).
Now, if anticipation becomes reaction, you MUST learn how to create those openings from every possible position, including and most certainly, from the ground.
