20 years ago. . .

advantages
-very strong legs, trunk & back (elephant?)
-very quick hands & feet
-very flexible through body & joints
-very high pain threshold
-very hard to choke
-rock head with flexi-neck = no KOs

disadvantages
-booksmart, streetsmart, but, generally stupid
-thought I was superman
-friends crazier than me

* * *
20 years later. . .

advantages
-zero flexibility
-still kind of strong, overall
-still quicker than ketchup
-high pain threshold
-no neck

disadvantages
-still generally stupid
-still have crazy friends
-don't believe anyone with a gun is good enough to hit me

Conclusions
* still hard to KO or choke.
* zero flexibility with strong body is advantageous due to opponent not being able to move limb any further than I can. . .so, not many subs to defend against.
* handspeed still quicker than a normal person

- Longish legs, at least longer than a good 80% of my dojo, which provides for nice front kicks at opponents to keep them at bay while I get my breath back :P
- Kinda a mix, but the fact that the throws most of us would use during sparring arent too complicated.(Bad on terms atm, but rarely anything hip based, usually a legsweep/trip/whatever, which i'm well used to.
-Younger member=more fitness (and Im bad atm) than some.

-Ives:
- Need to bulk the **** up.
- Kicks can be easily caught still if overused
- Bad habit of walking into punches still.

From Martial Artist specialisation I get these bonuses:
+2 Attack/Parry/Dodge
+4 Damage on physical attacks
+1 attack per level
+4 vs psychic attacks
+2 vs BOD attacks
One-half attack damage counts as mega-damage at level 5
Attacks damage unnatural beings at level 10
Can choose one power attack per level

and these disadvantages:
Base skill 1 with all guns and energy weapons
Defensive bonuses do not apply while wearing armor above level 1 or other restrictive clothing
Can not own property or have many possessions.
may not use killing blow while lawfully aligned.
May not sneak attack while lawfully aligned.
Must meditate daily or suffer -1 to all skills. Cumulative.
To gain a level, I must spend 1 month plus 1 week per level training under my master.
May not decline formal challenge from NPC Martial Artists within 2 levels.

Overall it's not bad. It doesn't have the firepower of the blaster classes but at higher levels I'll be nearly impossible to kill.

Advantages:
Very long legs/short torso as a proportion of my height
Very strong legs
Large, barrel ribcage
Relatively strong overall
Powerful striker

Disadvantages:
Mediocre speed
Mediocre endurance
Mediocre coordination
No flexibility whatsoever - limited to leg and body kicks

I believe my disadvantages are within my power to improve at least somewhat.

I love how many people self evaluate to a high pain tolerance, as though they at some point could have had someone else's

Advantages:
Size. I'm a big wilson fiske freak of a guy. I'm a 6'4" "stocky" person. I'm seriously built like a tall Gimli. A guy with a 22 inch neck is pretty hard to choke or KO.
Leg flexibility - I can kick over my eye level without a warmup.
Iron stomach - nothing makes me sick, not lactose or hot food or weird food or all protien or no protien or any of that crap. When I eat something that has to make you sick, I get an afternoon of indigestion while everybody else gets their stomach pumped.

Disavantages -
Short legs (relative to my body - still longer then scrapper's :P)
Slow metabolism - it is honestly quite hard for me to stay on top of my weight, always has been.
Bad sideways flexibilty - my sidekicks and such aren't nearly as quick or high as my front kicks.
Bad toes - I don't know if this is genetic or because of trauma in football but I can't curl my toes very well.
Bad eyesight - without contacts I can't really see all that much at all.

Re: High Pain Tolerance

I was born 8 weeks premature and weighted way less than 1 lb (don't remember the # though) and was kept in an incubator forever. It dulled all my senses - sight, smell, hearing, taste, etc. It pretty much sucks ass (except that I can easily block out destractions) but the horrible sense of touch lets be not feel pain real bad. I had my wisdom teeth cut out last year with no anestetic (spelling? ****) and I would compare the pain to a mild headache.

I also think that people who stay in full contact martial arts may have a naturally high pain tolerance because, damn, if getting punched really hurt you a lot then you probably wouldn't keep doing it.

Pros:
-Yeah, pain tolerance. I tattooed the tops of my feet for FOUR HOURS and didn't cry. Then I went back three more times for touch ups. I dare any of you to do the same.

-I'm broad shouldered. Maybe all of my rolling partners have sucked balls, but I can generally sit in a triangle until the cows come home. It'll be boring, and I can't necessarily escape, but there will be no choking.

- Strong thighs from all those years of volleyball. They're huge and I hate them (I can wear one or two sizes smaller in skirts than in pants), but they do come in handy.

Cons:
-big breasts. I can't do jail bars as well as everyone else because I just cannot put my arms flat to my chest.

-my thighs are too thick and my legs are too short to land a triangle on anyone.

-I'm a mental wuss. I cry when I do poorly. Not because there's anything physically hurting me.

-A wonky left ankle. I sprained it and it seems to be mostly healed, but I can't pivot on it, so I can't kick with my right foot. I can't kick with my left one, either, because my foot is stuck at a 90 degree angle when it's in the non-negotiable brace. Even without a brace, I wouldn't be whacking anything with my sprained ankle.

-A messed up right shoulder. Some days I can't lift my right arm past shoulder height.

Pros:
Med-Hi pain tolerance.
Flexible
Great side-kick(not the superhero type)
Good punch power for my size
Fracture resistant
Never say die mentality(untill i'm really dead)

Cons:
Small size 5'4" 114lbs(I'm a mid sized asian, sue me...)
Weak nose(bleeds like a bitch for no reason what so ever)
Daydreams too much(even while sparring)

11/20/2005 6:51am,
Advantages:
1/ A small number of repititious DNA elements on chromosomes 1 - 12 results in less deleterious recessives effecting quantitative traits associated with martial arts.
2/ A mutation in my mitochondrial DNA allows for mitochondrial DNA repair and as such my cells are far better at metabolism than most peoples.
3/ Due to a freak retroviral insertion error when I was a zygote the poly-adenaline tails of my chromosomes regenerate after mitosis. As such my cells are immortal.

Disadvantages:
Gigantism
