I'm game for a Halloween throwdown. Nerveasian and I did one last year. Just him and I; no one else showed up.
I'll bring my "backalley thug" mask to throw down in. I can host one here in Chicago, but am game for taking some people south if one is there and there is enough interest.

Hmmm...
I'm having a thought. Hows about we have the Paducah TD in the middle of OCT, and I'll host the Halloween TD here in St Louis so we don't force SSteve to drive quite so far?
Any yays, nays?

If you combine them, it'd sound like this: "The government is making me go to a rave."
It turns out I wasn't on call, as I thought. They just made me do it ANYWAY becuase the guy that IS on call (a contractor) is out on some god-forsaken farm making apple butter. I'm not making this up. I was pissed.:qleft3:
A Psy-Trance outdoor music festival isn't exactly a Rave .... .... .... well I guess it is close enough * shrugs *
I have not, thus far, received either apple butter or NSFW photographs of hippy rave girls.
I am not pleased. The tribute must flow or retribution will be swift and terrible.
Everything went great except for the foot of rain that was dropped on our mountain in a 48 hour period ... so we didn't even take the cameras out of the car . The tent leaked after five hours of spectacular thunder storms so our group all ended up resting/sleeping in the car .

but that would mean I would have to get on the ball right now and start planning . My hand is still fucked ... I rebroke it breakfalling while fucked up as hell helping my DJ friend hump his CD's and turn table ( only guy there spinning from vinyl ) to the stage .
I guess it is possible to line something up even if I won't be at 100 % .
Let's here what Steve has to say about .
OKay I'm now confused, I thought Paducah TD was going to be in October.
If Paducah is still on for October do we have a date yet?
I was shooting for the end of October . I was going to get on starting the planning later on this week . I am gonna see what Steve and others are working on ... colaboration FTW .

Personally I'd say let's not spread ourselves too thin. We have a lot of overlap between Paducah, St. Louis, Chicago and Indianapolis/Indiana throwdowns. We're going to force people to choose some and abandon others. I would think having at least a month between throwdowns in this general region would be a good general guide. We can pick one place to have an October throwdown and then save the next place for November so people can plan a bit.
I don't know about you guys, but I have two kids, another on the way, a house to renovate (including a nursery that's got to be done before the baby gets here) college credits to finish, an ambulance to drive, adoption counseling sessions, OT sessions, Parent Group sessions, and even occasional martial arts training going on.
Well, that and a 50-60 hour-per-week job.
I ask a lot of my family already in terms of my time; I can't take off and do stuff that doesn't include them every other weekend. Let's pace ourselves. I'm not going anywhere.

MUST. THROW. DOWN!
Either way, this thread has reached a pretty decent size without any dates being seriously considered.
My vote is for a halloween TD, I guess in Paducah (is Steve good to come down there?).

Paducah, KY is close to 400 miles away from Chicago. I would need at least 2 other people going with me (along with my gf) and a place to stay, as I am not going to drive 12+ hours in a single day for anything, much less a throwdown. The same would likely be for a St. Louis TD.
With my gf's permission, we could probably put up a few people in our living room if people came up to Chicago (we'll be living in a suburb nearby).

I'll take you up on that offer next Chicago TD. Sleeping arrangement confusion made me miss the last one.:home::5thanks:

Well, I'm game for a St Louis Throwdown mainly because I live there. A Halloween Throwdown in The Lou is the best for me.
Having all of these Throwdown is good for us all, there are plenty of time for other Throwdowns so who ever going to set up the STL Throwdown let me know.
I might know a few different places and if not just tell me where.
Airman_kai, have you heard about the MMA fights at the Collinsville Convention Center on either this Wednesday or the Next I'm not quite sure.

I've heard of 'em, yah, and seen the commercials. I was gonna train at the mma gym that's sponsoring the vent, but they wanted me to sign a contract that blew hard.

I probably won't make a mid-October throwdown. My wife is going to be in Minnesota the weekend of the 6th, then her birthday and Webelos Woods Weekend are the weekend of the 22nd. I could maybe do something the weekend of the 14th, but I don't know. Maybe if I brought the whole family down.
Halloween should be easier.
Oh, and also I am severely hurted. I'm limping around like a cripple right now.

I think that's the general date we're gonna make it.
Everybody's good with a halloween KY TD? (it's be on the 28th, a saturday)

I will have to go check about the Saturday action . The Mcdojang is usualy tied up and knee deep in tikes on Saturdays . It being a Holiday may actually help becouse they usualy have the Halloween party across the street at a local church and usualy on the friday before .
I will get final information this evening . I am excited ... but I haven't done ANYTHING besides shadowbox and work my lead hand once in a while since I broke my hand at the last TD ( and problably rebroke the thing twice since then being a stupid moron ) .
But if no one is picky , doesn't mind nature and the McDojang is unavailable there is always our normal training area ( soft grass , wrestling mats , a gravel pit for stand up , and the driveway ) ... and we won't have a mat fee . But it would be weather permitting so the McDojang will be the goal .

Still no word on the video conversion

Late Oct in IL = no warm spots.
28th sounds ok for now, depending on location.
