Does anyone have any good fight or flight stories? My last fight, I was a spectator trying to keep between a this girl i knew and her exboyfriend. She punched him over my shoulder, it smacked me one in the face.

All I remember from popping back up was pure adreneline. No freezing, no pause, just went for him.

I can tell you that from purposely putting people into a sudden fight or flight situation to test the response, if it is flight, you are gone so fast you may not even remember leaving.

And that is a good thing. Better to run like mad and go home and watch T.V. then test your mortality avoidance once to often.

I have many over the years. Human nature is pretty predictable, but people also do extrordinary things when called upon.

I had a student who is now a police officer here locally, and he was at a bowling alley in the parking lot when he was approached by a local tough and his guys. This young man was 5'6 115-120 and the tough pushed him and said move and before he could move or not, the tough threw a right haymaker.

The students parried the punch just enough to throw a palm heel that connected at the point of the chin. The tough was knocked out so suddenly that he tore the ligaments out of his left knee when he went straight down catching the leg under him.

Contrary to what some have believed over the years, when you are knocked cold or truly pass out, there is no gentle settling to the ground, it is a fast harsh and dangerous impact with whatever is below you.

The best part is that the student as he was taught and stayed for the police report and any repercussions to follow, of which there were none.

That is why teachers and students exist. There must be a "what if you can't".

What then. I refuse to get into a self defense will or won't work with anyone. I can simply say from personal experience that it will or wont, is dependent much more on the person than it is the art.

To argue about it to me is somewhat akin to saying I can whip any or all of you, or any or all of you can whip me, without meeting each other. Verbal masterbation at best.

And I say that with total respect for everyones personal opinion. All of our opinion's will vary based on our personal experiences, and nothing will prove them wrong or right but each of us that bears that particular opinion.

Hmm... Blade, how was he trying to lured you? This seem very famaliar, many of people I know from college in Wash DC has gotten lured and mugged. That is probably why I never got mugged in first place because they were unable to lure me or get close to me. Hmm... I will start a new thread about this subject.
