There've been requests that we set up a throwdown here in Nashville, so I figured I'd make a thread and see who all would be willing to come to one. It'd have to be no sooner than a month from now, but any time after that we can see what works best for people. We've got a really big gym here that we can probably use on a saturday afternoon (with mat fees of course), no guarantees as I haven't talked to the gym owner yet (I keep forgetting) but it's likely it wouldn't be too hard to arrange.

I hesitate to even commit to a "maybe," simply because this is my senior year of college and I am busy as ****, but if it is just in Nashville, I could probably make a day trip down there.
My standup is noobish and rusty, but I am game to get schooled anyway. And I always love playing the ground game with new people.

yeah, the throwdown is going to be in nashville. Don't worry about committing to anything with this thread, I just made it to get an idea of who's INTERESTED in coming, not even who WILL come.

I can say that 2 maybe 3 people would come down with me. There was supposed to be a throwdown in Louisville dont know if it ever happened.
But i would definately be interested. Would like to read up on the rules if any and whats what.
I see several people who flamed my post said they may be interested. :icon_pira
would be interesting to say the least lol.
Johnsonville ironically is where a very very hardcore shaolindo master is; Master mullins. I say this for ojgsxr6 he was on my shaolindo thread. You know him?
Anyway back on topic, where can i found out about what these throdowns consist of. And keep me posted on when if it happens.

make sure to bring, at minimum, a mouth guard. I recommend 8oz MMA sparring gloves or 16oz boxing gloves for kickboxing, shin pads, and headgear. It's likely Ed (the gym owner) will want everyone wearing headgear, shin pads, 8oz MMA gloves (or 16oz boxing gloves) to spar at the gym and it's encouraged that people bring their own (Ed might not want outsiders borrowing the gym's gear), though if you don't have gloves or something, someone is bound to have some that you can borrow.
you can spar with any sort of ruleset you want as long as both people are familiar with the rules. Muay thai or sanshou rules are encouraged when neither person has grappling experience.

oh yeah, and on gear, karate/TKD style point sparring gear is not acceptable.

Plus point sparring gear looks faggy imo.
