Ive talked to Asia personally about turning pro, the fact is the guys a soldier that doesnt mean he's not pro material. I dont know JFS but i respect him even if some of his threads are questionable. But your right even Fedor will tell you that "on any given Sunday" maybe not using those words but still. Id want time to really train going up against him is all im saying but then again i dont know JFS as well.

Well goodluck JFS i think you have your work cut out for you.

Honestly lets leave the betting **** out of it and have respect for both guys if you want to help donate to the fighters not fucking bullshido. Oh yeah this is nothing to do with bullshido but if either guy is hurt i'll try to help in any way i can OK and that's a promise from me. Just make sure your ducks are in a row and dont get blindsided. For instance if JFS is hurt it happened in a car accident and ASIA knowing him has already worked out a cover story. This all depends on if an ambulance is needed if it is JFS your medical insurance wont cover it if you dont believe me i can send you a photocopy of my hospital bill. I may be able to wiggle out of my thing, but if your at a school/dojo it will be written up in a report and your health care provider will tell you to go **** yourself, trust me it's a problem to think about.

Not so much imagery: American Federation of Pankration Athlima (http://www.pankrationacademy.com/american_federation_of_pankration_athlima.htm).

I see on this site that they've misspelled the Greek version of palaestra by simply translitering it into Greek letters; in Greek, the ae should be ai (alpha + iota).

I'm definitely cheering for EA as he is playfully an asshole and JFS is just plain nasty.

If this is going to be kung fu fight, extra points to one who speaks out of lip-sync. :XXjester:

Odd how Asia hasn't said much. Maybe he's training, y'know; eating trees and throwing small kids helluvafar. Just my two cents.

"So he'll go into the probable eye-gouges to try to escape"

someone said this earlier in the thread. all this does is show a total lack of understanding of the systems in use.

I know John, and all these jibes about him being "bloated" are just false, he's in excellent condition. I don't know Asia and am prepared to believe the hype, but i doubt it matters to be honest.

If this happens and John does not win, never mind "show competence" then i will donate the $20 dollars to Bullshido.

otherwise the general lack of open-mindedness and thinking you know everything about everything from certain members does tend to jar slightly.

I have spoken to some in the UK who state that IRL John is not so abrasive and abusive... he is knowledgeable likes to share that knowledge and is a good guy... I have a couple of questions if I may...

1 - did you know John before the stroke as well as after and if so have you noticed a change in his temperament and reaction to contrary opinion...??

2 - is he this abusive and derisive IRL (in real life) as he is here...???

Thanks

I'm hesitant to even post in this thread as there has already been a lot of pollution, but I really just wanted to say that I wish JFS and Evil Asia a good fight. Hopefully you will both get something out of it. It is nice to see TMAists showing that stereotypes are just stereotypes, and that they are just as willing to bang as any sport-based MAists. Anyway, I look forward to the video.

Thanks all that. One minor correction if I may. When EA and I go at it in Gong Sau it is echelons above anything the sports-based MAist ever engages in.

No ring, no padding, no ref, no corner man to throw in the towel if one of us starts taking a serious ass beating, I wear no safety equip. of any kind ... jeans, T-Shirt and sneakers ... that's it.

We will both get something out of it ... a chance to do this thing we both cherish dearly ... TCMA - CMA. That's a rare treat to those of us who have walked this Path for more than a few years. John

I really hope this is more HYPE than anything else and that, in the end, it will be two MA testing each others skill, and nothing more.

Anything other than that is a disgrace for the CMA community in specific and the MA in general.

We already have a rep of being "knuckle draggers" and things of the nature.

Lets not feed the fire.

I say "wrong" simply because from the pictures shown it's clear that the people attempting the takedowns don't really know what they're doing i.e. heads down, arms outstretched, leaning forward.

It maybe that what you're showing is applicable to MMA - I can't tell from the pictures - in which case, "great!" but from what I can see the takedown attempts are poorly executed.

I'm looking forward to hearing the results of this match.

Okay, you read reasonable. Let me ask you a question. If you were to demo a technique (and I use this term as it fits your format) and someone were to be randomly taking photos ... do you think there might be a photo or two, shot while you were both in repose, that might not reflect "good" technique?

The photos from that Seminar came mostly from the Girl Friends of peeps attending, random, nothing scripted, they were given a free hand to photo as they please ... To read so much into a still photo without even knowing the operative context is none too ... tactically sound. Seems real MMA peeps wouldn't make such a blunder.

I think it's interesting ... no, more like funny, that so many MMA peeps mouth off about real they are, yet spend most of their time attempting to put down TCMA - CMA. If these MMA peeps really believed their own hype, they wouldn't do such a thing. Just a massive spastic insecurity welling up ... and with good reason. The vast majority of MMA is absolute **** ... a game for the young and restless.

"We" were here long before MMA and we will be here long after MMA has gone to the dust bin ... with the rest of the fads. The BEAST

Well, just how in the Hell do you propose EA and I "test" each others skill? He's CMA-TCMA and so am I. We have a time honored way of resolving our differences and it is known as Gong Sau. Translates roughly as "Talking Hands" ... and ties into a TCMA tenet that goes like this: "Men don't fight ... Animals fight ... Men reason. If you must fight then fight as an Animal."

Sorry MOD ... be prepared for the fire being fed ... it's going to be nothing less than a raging Bon-Fire and fire is my Friend. The BEAST

I aint punchy!?

Its the INTENT that I am refering to.
If you guys are getting together to test each other fine.
If you are trying to "prove something", or some crap like that, your egos will get in the way and the result coould be a "black eye" on the MA community, we don't need that.

this is fucking ridiculous.

JFS, even is he is the most skilled martial artist in the history of time, is a huge fucking troll who can't keep a cap on his fucking steam vent.

I didnt know him before the stroke, but suspect that nothing much has changed.

No, in real life people (in general) aren't nearly as mouthy & forthright. I have never seen John be anything less than the perfect gentleman, pleasant, polite & humourous. but then i've never seen anyone say the kind of things they do on the internet to him either, and personally don't doubt the kind of response they would get if they did.

Shadowdh i notice you're a Chen man, and wanted a chat with you anyway? drop me a mail at kevgrantuk@hotmail.com when you get a moment if poss?
