Fighting is EASY. It's the daily grind, year after year, the constant practice and training that is difficult. That's the hard part of the equation. If you had anything beyond a bag full of fears centering on personal safety & ego issues you would understand and know that after about a decade or so your method is completely entrained. "Fighting" is as natural as breathing. Simply get out of your own way. The Human Body has a very strong survival drive ... it wants to live ... program it correctly and let it do what it knows to do.

Getting up early every morning to practice and train is NOT natural ... it's a total pain in the ass ... peeps think you're a freak for doing it and your Family is concerned what the neighbors think.

I'm cool with the claims in your pm. That's not what I am laughing at. It's the title "master". It doesn't matter who gave it to you. It's made up. There's no such thing. You can be a toudai (I think that's the Cantonese pronounciation) or a Sifu or a regular student or a formal disciple or whatever. But the title "Master" is just something American's make up to make themselves sound important. It can be a term of address that someone else uses when referring to you but to claim it as some sort of a formal rank is just self-inflated pomposity.

I also know that some of the other titles you claim, which I fully expect to be true, are not really indicators of any kind of level of training. They are pretty damn honorable posts but they are political positions more than anything else. They tell me that you have done a hell of a lot of work for the gong fu community out there in NYC and that's cool. I respect that. But "master"? There's just no such thing in the Chinese tradition.

Now if you just meant that you are a teacher with your own students or something, I can dig that. A lot of terms don't translate well. Just clear up what you mean.
