I just had another match (I'm TKD) with my MMA friend (TKD/MT/BJJ) and I copped a pretty bad hook to the ear. After that I felt dizzy and lost balance. While that was expected, I'm having trouble equalising the pressure and the eardrum just damn hurts whenever I sneeze or blow my nose or watever. Anyway it was my first time I got this sortof damage to my ear, and i was wondering if you guys how long it would take to heal? And how to speed up the healing? Thanks =]

Oh and just for the record, it came out pretty even. Well I lost every grappling fight, but I'll just ignore that for now =]. We had a MMA, MT, boxing and grappling rules matches over about an hour. I copped a knee to the face, and a little bit of gum got cut and is hanging off =[. I had the upper hand in boxing, was about even for kicking, lost grappling and had less damage resistance so that was a deciding factor.

What kind of safety equipment were you guys wearing?

As for healing, I imagine the body will take care of that on its own.

OK thanks, I just feared permanent damage since I haven't had this sortof injury before. We had gloves, shin-instep pads and mouth guard. Post match observations revealed that his gloves were about 3x harder than mine tho -_-

I will also say if it doesn't heal up after a week or something, see a doctor. Maybe even sooner.

How did you tear your gums with a mouthguard in?

My head was down at his chest level, and he kneed me in the face. It hit my bottom row of teeth, specifically my gum. Mouthguard was only on top row see... XD Damn he almost broke my arm with an armbar too... I'll tell you guys now, make sure you stop breaking your buddies limbs as SOON as he taps =].
