Old Boy was great.

The massive fight in the corridor was just so OTT it's not even funny. :D

What about Shilmido? That movie was huge in korea. I didn't see is when I lived there though as my korean is terrible. I'll admit that sex is zero is probably one of the funnier movies out there if you like jokes about dicks and jerkin off.

Shilmido is about the government taking death row inmates and secretly training them to assassinate the North Korean president. It takes place shortly after the Korean War. It takes some pretty hard lefts from the assassination plot, but it's worth a watch. They have the real TKD. I can't remember if it was based off a true incident or not.

And yes, Gas Station Incident is the same as Attack the Gas Station.

I watched this weird Korean flick about this guy who gets sucked into a videogame. It has references to "the little girl with matchsticks". Oh and at one point of the movie he wields a raygun that really is a makerel, and it pwnz (the gun, not the movie). At one point he disarms his opponent who has gotten a hold of said ray gun...by making it swim through the air to his hand.

Any idea what it is called?..I need to watch it again to make sure it wasn't a lucid dream

Anyone ever seen Spirit of Jeet Kune Do?

Even though Sand Woo Kwon is one of my favorite korean actors..I think this was the most sad korean action movie ive ever seen IMO.
The whole story plot was horrible but atleast the action wasnt as bad.

Spin Kick - A group of hoodlums kick the crap out of the high schools TKD team and are forced to take they're place or get suspended. I thought it was pretty funny, more of a family movie.

We were referring to it as Maljuk or Once Upon A Time In High School.

i think its called "Revenge of Little Matchstick Girl". I remeber seeing commercials for this when i was stationed in the ROK. Very "Matrix"-ey looking. There was this weekend movie preview show on SBS or KBS and it would basically show the entire movie in about a minute. Definitely a spoiler alert needed there. Ok found it in IMDB
Resurrection of the Little Match Girl
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0327169/

Some othes i have watched or seen at Blockbuster recently are "Tube", about a subway car being held hostage. No relation to the subway fire in Daegu; 2009: Memories(?) which looks pretty cool but is always checked out. A sci-fi flick; H, a serial killer flick.

Dream of a Warrior which i watched and was fucking terrible, like a z grade version of Krull; Musa: The Warrior a fairly decent period piece set during the Silla era. Lots of sword fighting & has Zhang Ziyi is in it(!) but kind of heavy on drama; Phone, a "Ring" type horror movie. I thought it was pretty good.; Nightmare, which i got today. Looks like a "I know what u did last summer" type horror flick.

Revenge of little Matchstick girl eh?

There's is no way you could possibly have spoilers in a one minute summation clip...Maybe it was just because I was hung-over.

Ok, maybe it was 2 minutes. But this show had that stuff. I saw entire plots for League of Extraordinary Gentleman, Shaolin Soccer, Marix Reloaded and Terminator 3 on that show.

Whasango, aka "Volcano High" = best movie ever, although I never saw the MTV dubbed version.

I saw "Volcano High", very Matrixy, but no gnosticism, and has a sense of humor and cheesefactor, good fun for all kiddies.
Anyone seen the hilariously titled (in English anyway) "Fighter In The Wind" (insert farty noise here)? It's this weirdass story about the origins of Kyokushin, the main character is Mas Oyama (with a Korean name.) He constantly ends up under swordblades and all sorts of silly ****, and looks very impressive in his manky dogi.

I've seen heaps of Korean movies only because my friend loves them and gives it to me and I just cannot stand their acting. I don't know if they're told to act that way or its just the way all korean actors are. What I'm talking about is constant over reacting and chucking huge fits of rage over nothing (is it meant to be funny?). I have seen this **** too many times in too many movies. A popular example is My Sassy Girl, and other movies like Wind Struck, My Tutor Friend, My crazy Love or 100 days as a slave or something like that, I can't remember.

I'm watching "A bittersweet life" right now, it's pretty good. The action and fight scenes are well done.
