If you played American football and then decided to take up Rugby, would you instantly adapt to the new rules and elements easily ? How would you deal without all the ***** helmets and pads ?

Or how would you deal with the change from Lacross to Irish Hurling ?, since they have the ability to strike the opponent on the other team with their hurling stick Just an analogy.
That was so stupid it hurt.

I guess I just can't compete with that level of reasoning. That puts me in my place then.

Kikaku, has this gentleman you trained with ever considered competing in a submission grappling event or MMA? I'd like to see something different happen in the subgrappling and MMA scene that makes us reconsider everything we think we know. Imagine the positive impact that would have for the bujinkan.

Or perhaps, and I know this has been a sore issue over on MAP, could we have a little video clip of this? It's just that nobody here has ever seen bujinkan perfrom under live conditions and the ex-bbt people here may really have been unlucky to be stuck with the crappy training and instructors.

I assume you're being sarcastic (apologies if you're not). Or are you just trying to get a bark out of me ? :happy7:

I'm not being sarcastic. I would be fascinating to have somthing new dominate the Sub-grap MMA circuits and by your account this gentleman sounds like he has something. Just saying it's something you guys might want to consider and the benefits towards your organisation if sucessful would be incredible.

Malaysia is hardly the place for MMA training, not to mention the fact that there are no MMA competitions sanctioned or practiced unfortunately. The closest we get is UFC on AXN :laughing9

While I doubt most declarations of BJK finding a good fighter due to the law of averages. During my time in the BJK, I trained with lots of people from all over the world and seeing the standard, it is hard for me to believe that the BJK has a good fighting system because there is little reality in much of the practice to instill good foundations.

There are the exceptions, there are people that could fight if they took any martial art or no martial arts at all. Those are some that can make the BJK work. There are also a few that actually discard much of what Hatsumi and some of the fruitier shihan say and stick to solid skills, and they do very well.

But, few people in the BJK fit into those categories.

That being said, Kikaku, I hope you come here for ideas and discourse. The irrational nutriding of the BJK doesn't go over well here.

I'm not here to nutride in the slightest. I'm here to share opinions objectively and diplomatically.

If sport fighting -> street fighting is like going from american football to rugby. Then dead kata martial arts without sparing or sport fighitng -> street fight is like playing madden 2005, being fat lazy and overweight, then going and playing pro rugby.

Its mighty sad if you never trained knife or mutiple opponent drills/sparring in the Booj. I contribute most of my (little) skill of both from it. What exactly DID you do in the Bujinkan? And if it was so god damn shitty, why the **** didnt you leave earlier? The more you talk, the more I doubt half of what comes out of your mouth.

On that subject I didn't leave earlier becuase I spent most of my years in the system under the belief that I was training in da bomb. I believed all that stuff about "too deadly" and "sport vs street", which in hindsight was extremely silly of me especially considering that I'm a hardcore skeptic as well. I began to question things more and more untill I finally made the decision to leave it behind.

Pl4zM4 is currently going "Cold Ninja". He may well be lashing out at the ones he loves but his rage will be mostly focused on those still getting their fix.
