Hey anyone interested in a Olympia/Lacey area throwdown?
I know a place we can all get together and kick the crap out of each other (Muay Thai, Boxing, Wrestling Jiu Jitsu, MMA whatever).
Let me know so i can set up a date for a saturday after noon or a sunday night.
Thanks guys, I look forward to getting together and beating some of you up :)

So there is no one in the greater puget sound area (Olympia, Seattle, Tacoma) that wants to throwdown?
Im pretty sure I have seen a post for a washington state throwdown before, but if everyone is scared, then everyone is scared :)

OK, I'm scared, but I'm up for it.
The usual "my skillz are teh suck" disclaimer applies.
Sorry, I didn't see the post when it first popped up, but yeah, I might be down for it. Saturday would work better, as we can have a beer to ease the pain afterwards. I'd be coming down from Seattle, so a late afternoon session would be ideal.
There was an earlier Seattle throwdown post that I don't think ever happened. Maybe we could wrangle up a few of those people to come down and play too.

we had a pacific NW throwdown scheduled for june/july in vancouver, but it might of fizzled out. if you have a place in olympia and a time, let us know. late june / early july works for me.
I can probably convince a few folks to come along. Just don't make it June 25-26.

I'd be up for it. If any of you wanna come train/spar on fridays at the UW IMA we have a small group that gets together around 3. Feel free to send me a pm. Guest fee is a monster $7.00.

Post a date, and if I'm not working, I'll show up.
3pm on Fridays is hard for a lot of people. Is there any weekend time available at UW?
Hey quickfeet, I'd probably be down for a little sparring, but wouldn't be able to make it at 3 on weekdays. If you've got a place to train at then great, otherwise, it's starting to get nice, and we could find a park. Weekends would be best, or you could swing by our LESKAS (FMA) club workouts if you like. I've got you by a few pounds (6'2, 230), but you can discount about 15 lbs of that due to too much beer and not enough training.
When does the LESKAS club meet? Is it open to non-FMA people for sparring? Basically times during the day on weekdays are hard for a lot of people. Something around 7:30pm on weekdays or something on the weekend might be better for people.
We meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 6:45ish to 8:30 or so up in the Shoreline area. Most of the time when we spar, it's full contact stickfighting. Sometimes it's pure stickfighting, but sometimes it's everything goes, with kicks, punches, takedowns, etc. It is a little different, since you've got a weapon, you don't end up rolling as much, as you'll tend to get buttstrikes a lot when this happens.
We're trying to focus a bit more on empty-hand right now, and are planning on strapping up the boxing gloves in the next few weeks. We'll also be focusing a bit more on take-downs and take down defense type of stuff as well. Unfortunately, we don't have mats where we train, but as it's getting nicer, we tend to go outside on the grass anyway.
For more info, go to http://www.leskas.com/ you can find our contact info there too. Just shoot Chris or myself (Ryan) an e-mail if you'd like to come check it out.

I'm more interested in the boxing, but it sounds great. It will have to wait a few weeks as I try to make up for two months of sitting on my ass waiting for my son to be born. Plus, I have family in town for a few weeks. After that sounds good.

The number of people who show up varies. Anywhere from 2 to around 7 depending on the week. IMA is open for use most hours, you just need to pay a guest fee and have a member with you. If any of you are interested send me a pm a few days before and we can work something out.
