I have to admit that if Osiris fought a brawler that I'd be interested in the results as well. Probably be a good fight.

Repost: And how has your stance on TKD changed?
I feel like a reporter at a press conference.
Osiris, are you taking Muay Thai now or are you going just to get experience in the style?
Impressive that you got back in the ring. Nonetheless, do you realize how very similar your comments sound to those of Djimbe?
Seriously look back to how he discusses his various styles and training.

Props for getting back in the ring.
Can we expect a play-by-play or should I just look at last time's flame-a-thon and think "maybe not"?
Osiris, just curiously why stick with TKD when the main method of sparring is for points and not useful for kickboxing?

TKD was originally an art designed to mess people up. Only recently has it been turned into point-fighting, and some people manage to use it to effect. Examples: there's a TKD stylist on Brazilian Top Team, and a TKD guy won a K-1 style tournament in Brazil (I think they might be the same guy).

I dunno, it was skip kicking when I did it as a kid, still was skip kicking when I did it for a little at my university year and a half ago...
I know this guy who's been doing like soo bahk do, not even a black belt yet and beats up most of the BB's in tkd for fun.
The TKD I did as a kid was definately NOT "skipkicking".
I've never seen Os train but when I was training I got side kicked hard enough to pick me up off the floor and had a 6 inch bruise the next day. We sparred for real at the end of most every class and in 5 years I never did learn what the rules were for point tounaments because we never went to one.
I second that as well. It wasn't skip kicking when I started but I did see the changes going on from late 70s to now. There are some good TKD fighters still out there but the problem is that 90% of the dojangs teach crap. Solid kicking skills has taken a backseat to flashy airals.

There's actually a report on now that proposes permitting an extra point for "flashy" techniques, so a "mid-air" kick to the head would score 3 points, so as to improve the "watchability" of TKD. How they're going to judge exactly what a "flashy" technique is, I don't know.
no matter how I look at it, TKD just seems so dumb. I am not doubting that osiris is a great stand-up fighter since he seems well educated in what is and what isn't good technique, but when I look at the bigger picture especially at my university, the club is a joke. They have a 50 dollar per belt test, and an "everybody passes" policy. CMON NOW.

Enter some WTF tournaments and win them all with hard kicking to a knockdown/knockout/ringout. I really think that could start fixing TKD, if more people would enter them and throw bombs.
