That is still not proof.Wing chun has also been around for hundreds of years.
And there are also lots of really big schools and many practitioners in the style long before it became over comercialized.Then that must mean that it works since why would thousands of people waste their time for hundreds of years?

There's a difference between using a martial art and using it effectively. Where's all the evidence of Wing Chuners kicking ass? Compare that to a thousand years of samurai killing each other, which we know happened because we have the swords, documented duels and murders, and wars to prove it.

Not an expert but wasnt the form of hand to hand grappling done by samurai for thousands of years called Aikijutsu?I read a few books on them and they had a few skills like swimming with armour and shooting bows off horses but im pretty sure their hand to hand without swords was called aikijutsu.

Ok well if your style was used for 100's of years by the samurai and worked then lets presume because wing chun has been used for 100's of years that it worked too. There is a hell of alot of documentation on wing chun, just the lineage thats in dispute.

Every martial art under the sun has been studied by a military force. Even (in)famous Matt Furey claims that his combat conditioning techniques are used by military personnel, as per the testimonals that cloud his advertisements. I had a bullshido instructor once, and he instructed military personnel. Does that make him legit? It certainly did not.
