Just had a thought.... has anyone booked the dojo? Liffguard (I think) was making enquiries a couple of weeks back and as there are classes right through the day on Saturdays (the 16th is a Saturday) would this happen in the evening?

There is a seminar (judo and BJJ) happening on the 17th which should be good!

For the record, it isn't booked yet, but Liffguard says he'll see about doing it tonight.

I know this threads for Epsom Throwdown, but how many of you would be willing to travel to Yorkshire for a throwdown, maybe Bradford or Leeds?

Sorry for posting it in the wrong place, but i didnt see the point in starting a whole new thread if its gonna die after a day.

Well, since that's right on my doorstep, me for one.

Is it further away from London than Portsmouth is?

If you meant, is West Yorkshire (Leeds or Bradford) further to travel FROM Portsmouth than it is to travel TO London, then im not sure. I know that theres a direct train that goes from Portsmouth to Leeds, but i think thats about 8 hours. As for driving, you wouldnt want to do it for a day-trip.

Again, soz for cluttering up the Epsom Throwdown thread, i'll try and make a new one for the North of the UK.

Guys, it now turns out that I probably won't be able to make it (unless someone actually volunteers to cover me at work, fat bloody chance). I'll still look into booking it with whoever's on the desk tonight but you might want to get someone else to actually do the booking seeing as how I won't actually be going. Grant, are you going this saturday? If so, I could get some details tonight and you could then book on saturday.

This is all a bit of a pisstake really. I can make it to croydon and North-bloody-hampton but when it's a twenty minute cycle away I'm tied up with work. Ah well, such is life.

Edit

Okay, if it's happening on April 16th, it's not happening at Sleeping Storm. Too short notice. If I'd had a definate date a month earlier it might have been more realistic. Some more info is also required:
- No. of people attending
- What we'll be doing
- Time
- Insurance needs to be sorted out apparently.
- Need to establish someone as the group's organiser or spokesman
Basically, they're not opposed to the idea but they don't hire the hall out to just any group of random people who want to kick the crap out of each other.

I'll be there this saturday.

Looks like it might be an idea to find a new location and a new date.
Can anyone volunteer a location?

BUMP

We still need a location. If anybody has one for the 16th that'd rock, but any locations at all for the near future would be appreciated. Any at all. Ho hum.

Just spoke to Paul (owner) on the phone...

He said we can't book it but we can just come in and pay £8 and train.. It was pretty quiet last time I went.. (Sat midday)..

It is just two mins away from where it was... it is at the bottom of Church st...

Beaney.. Your Gi (inc p&p) is £52... It is wierd cos mine is £54... but the sales price is £10 more but the discount price is only £2 more...

Cool. What does that mean practically then? "not booking" it but still training there just means other people might be there?
