Mine started back in 95 when I tried to get my first hotmail account and the g (first initial)reese (last name) was taken. So I just snagged greese1...and since I am mentally lazy I have used that most of the time....except on gmail...where greese, greese1, grantreese, grant.reese, and several other things are mine...all mine!

ie, 3l33t is pronounced 'elite'

juarez is 'wares', etc.

Pronouncing it out loud is the mark of the new-wave script kiddie newb puke.

the exception being when the netspeak is part of the joke, IE 'gr8-1' is "great one"
