.....do you take them less seriously? Like, if they call themselves "JKDChick23" or "bruc3 133" ?
Question also applies for people who put x before or after their name (xAsiaKillax) or use 1337-speak to substitute in for letters (see above).
Rarely, but I make exceptions for people like greese1.
And if you think that's stupid, here's another topic:
Automatic fucking chairs: Love it or leave it?
Now I remember why I regret posting in your stupid threads.
man, do you know how hard it is to get the handle Maverick first.
Occasionally I think up cool names that no one else has taken like, um, nevermind, but thats quite rare.
Dammit! I should have take "nevermind"
Mine started back in 95 when I tried to get my first hotmail account and the g (first initial)reese (last name) was taken. So I just snagged greese1...and since I am mentally lazy I have used that most of the time....except on gmail...where greese, greese1, grantreese, grant.reese, and several other things are mine...all mine!
To derail a stupid thread, I have about 49 gmail invites if anyone wants one.
But I'm named after an awesome 80's movie robot!
I'm the man in #000000
And to answer your question, leet is a purely visual cant - it shouldn't be pronounced differently.
ie, 3l33t is pronounced 'elite'
Pr0n is 'porn'
juarez is 'wares', etc.
Pronouncing it out loud is the mark of the new-wave script kiddie newb puke.
the exception being when the netspeak is part of the joke, IE 'gr8-1' is "great one"
Just how I feel.
Docther was taken for AIM
clayshooter was taken when I was getting my AOL account, so I just tacked on my birthday to the end.
I do lose respect for people when they use 1337 though (yes, I know I do sometimes, but I'm trying to quit).
I love l33t.
Check out the new tag/ava.
Colin looks.......happy. :)
Gah! That is awful!!
Somehow - awful doesn't quite encapsulate the repugnancy.
