Didn't you say you wrestled as an adult as a beginner? If so where the hell did you find the club?

I'm having the damndest time finding a wrestling entity which isn't for kids, or gay men.

Me too. Local universities will often have clubs for it, to accomodate people who can't hack, or don't have the time or disregard for their safety and apperance, for NCAA wrestling.

U. of Chicago? Northwestern? DePaul? You are in the area of some dorky schools and might be out of luck, but they're the only ones I've found not for gay men or kids. That was funny, BTW, and true.

Or you could just take qin na. I hear they're pretty much the same.

That's the problem. Particularly online, I type "adult" and, well...we know what that generates.

http://www.themat.com/ is the source for finding clubs and such. Its the governing body for wrestling. Also known as USAW.

Well, I coulda helped you, but xero beat me to it! He is correct. Am wrestling is governed by USA Wrestling. The link he gave for them is also good.

I wrestled with a "Florida Amateur Wrestling Assoc." club. They also have a website... www.floridausawrestling.org You needed your USA wrestling card to compete, but not to train. I'd imagine your state has a similar org. Find that and they should be able to hook you up with a club that is open to adults. Tell them you want to wrestle "open division", which is 18+ and out of High School. There's a "Masters Division", which is over 35, but no one really wrestled in it in Florida.
