Sweet pic. :icon_razz

Man, I was the king of suck (now I've typed that I realise how rude it sounds), but, as noodles said, I don't think anybody has anything to be ashamed of. Just turning up takes effort enough.

I am looking forward to the next one (and the many more after that I'll need to get my game together!) and, now I know where my weaknesses lie (i.e. everywhere) I know what I need to work on. Yoroshiku to everyone, cos I'm counting on you to help me out with that.

Nice to see you on Bullshido, Spence. Just let me know when you all want to get together again. Hopefully, my standup will be a little better, because it couldn't be much worse.

I also need to work on my groundwork. But first thing's first.

Bleah. Leaning forward, hunge lunge step committing all my balance, left arm cocked down around my knees ... I deserved a smack for that. I should put that photo on my fridge door so I'll feel like dropping and doing pushups instead of grabbing a chuhai.

Anyway, I'm looking forward to the next one. I've just got to figure out some way to be smarter by then. First Sunday in April?

I don't know what my schedule is then, but let's shoot for that day. Do you think James can make it again? I'd love it if he could teach us some more throws. I can't get enough of them. Maybe I should start learning some Judo too.

Dunno about James -- he's a family man, obviously, but it would be great to have him out again. (You reading this, James?) Anyway, now that we know that we can find some space and that everything else is good too, I figure we should be able to work some days out for the next while.

I'll definitely be bringing a gi. I'll also bring my MMA gloves instead of those 16 ouncers.

Yeah, I think that's good for me.

Ippatsu, you mentioned that Aliev Makhmud attends your dojo. Do you know if he is still a member of the Pride lineup, or was his "debut" in Pride 29 sufficiently disastrous that he is no longer considered for future bouts? Also, do you know if he successfully recovered from the injuries sustained in 29? From viewing the video replays, and reading his abbreviated interview on the Pride website, it seems he was seriously harmed.

As far as I know Makhmud trains at Takada dojo now. He wasn't getting enough of the hardcore training he needed for Pride-level fighting.

I'm not sure if he's going to fight in Pride again. He doesn't go to the same dojo anymore and neither do I.
