Thaiboxerken

This really doesn't do much to bolster the claims of kung fu. Is it common for these folks to fight with their hands almost in their pockets?

I do !!!
Which one ??
Can I bring a burrito and slap him with it ?

Seriously, while it was at least full contact, or it seemed that way, they kind of sucked.

The Dragon Screw takedown was coal, as well as that Powerslam the other guy did.

i think there was some really cool stuff done in those clips (mostly the throws.)

yeah, they should have had their hands up... we don't have enough info about the event to be able to tell what the rules were (i suspect "no punches to the face" was a part of it.)

i would really like to see the full footage, not just the highlights.

Zing!

I like the knockout at the end.

actually John Wang wrote on emptydlower that keeping your hands high isnt always the best option and others on emptyflower agreed with him. Here is the thread (go to page 2):

If you spend enough time on "tree kick" and "chain kick" then nobody on earth can get near by you. How can he knocks you cold if he can not even get closer to you? You won't need to guard your head if you had proper training. Drop both arms next to your legs and invite your opponent to punch at your head and then a nuts kick follow by a head punch, and take him down could be an excellent fighting strategy.

Trapping need plan ahead. Defense trapping is much harder than offense trapping. "creating opportunity" is always better then "waiting for opportunity". If your back hand is next to your front elbow then when you strike (he blocks) or he strikes (you block), you will have better chance to trap his arm. CMA has much superior "bridging and trapping" scheme then foreign MA. In CMA, your arms can act like octopus wrapping the pray. Have not heard any Karate, TKD, western boxing, or Thai boxing have bridging and trapping training in they system. The "Bridging and Trapping" training method make CMA more advance.

I totally enjoyed that clip. And I think it's awesome that someone actually pulled of that corkscrew sweep in a live setting.
