I'm writing a an analytical paper on sex crimes and how they relate to pornography (censorship issue)

Does anyone know where I can find some good statistics or info regaurding increased rate in sex crimes, as well as pornography sales up to 2004? (having some trouble, google sucks)

Ever tried Googling "Sex Crimes Statistics" ?

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=Sex+Crimes+Statistics

http://directory.google.com/Top/Society/Crime/Sex_Offenses/Statistics_and_Research/

Bureau of Justice Statistics Crime and Victims Statistics - http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/cvict.htm
Information, statistics, and publications about criminal victimization in the United States and related data collections.

Looks like your best bet.

You are looking at sex crimes and 1st amendment rights only?

What issues have you outlined?

I can get you a supreme court cite on a "fairly" recent decision regarding child pornography, if you want it.

actually, its much more specific. I'm doing research to determine whether or not pornography contributes or is the cause of, sex crimes in the US particularly (I'd like to expand, but I've been asked to narrow the subject)

I would still love to see that cite though mantis, I'm very interested. And thank you for the link to your topic

Shug:

Good luck in finding correlative information. You might want to run a search of psychology journals.

The Supreme Court case is John D. Ashcroft vs. The Free Speech Coalition, 122 S.Ct. 1389 decided 4/16/02
