Systema is always good for a laugh but Vasiliev and system have been discussed here extensively. Being a mostly blade FMA guy, I always like going there once and a while for a good laugh.

Iv been studying the blade for 2 years now.... The only time I would think of using what Iv learned is if my attacker wanted my life. He can have my movado, cell phone or wallett, thats not worth risking my life for.

Careful there, Antagony. I know what you mean, but make that kind of crack often enough, and people start to believe it. Then the police find them dead of multiple stab wounds with a gun in a holster.

This stuff is easy to counter. If anyone refuses to see reason, get a reasonably fit 10-year old child and a magic marker. Give it to the kid and tell him you'll give him a Snickers if he can draw 10 lines on the grownup.

It'll take the average hyper kid a few seconds. When you picture it as a knife, it's sickening to watch. Obviously no one who has posted so far needs that kind of eye-opener, but it is a useful tool.

Theres also the factor of Cops wearing Kevlar. A knife won't penetrate Kevlar, (will it?) but the cop has reduced mobility. So the only way to show effective h2h or h2k combat techniques is in full police uniform (minus the riot gear), and then defend against a knife attack.

Uh, the best defense against a knife attack? Don't be where the knife is! Simple, huh?
