So, this is a nifty little hip lock counter to the triangle that some buddies discovered while rolling the other day. I had my camera on hand and did a short video of it; I figured they shared it with me and I'll do the same with you.
Starting from your opponent's guard, naturally, you find yourself getting put into a triangle.... oh no! Well, break it. If you don't know how; the leg that is rested against the side of your head and rested across your back and shoulder, grab it firmly with both hands, look up (if you can, sit up straight), and jerk it off.
Once the triangle is open- hell for that matter you may be able to get to this without having him slap it on all the way, quite likely really- take that same leg that is by your head and shift it over to the other side. At this point, only one arm should be in between his legs anymore- in the video its my right arm- keep that hand tight on his hip so he can't get away from you too easily. Rest your head against the side or back of his knee, reach up with your free arm, grab the ankle and pull it down across the back of your head; you should have his leg bent at a good 90 degrees or so. Now, keep his hip planted with your right hand and his leg bent across the back of your head, simply move as though you were going towards side control and take your head to his hip or torso- boom, he gets all tapsy.
