Be sure to wear your kung fu outfit and refuse to wear a white belt. ;)

In all seriousness, check it out and have a good time.

Omega, your sig is getting out of control.

Anyway, my best advice to you, Glizy, is not to worry about "losing" or fighting really hard to defend against subs and positional failures. Every time you get tapped, pick a point where you felt you failed and ask how you could have done better. Most guests make the mistake of being really tense and worried about "losing" and end up gassing after a couple of minutes.

Oh, and buy a cheap gi if you don't have one. You don't want to use the "guest" gi.

Not going there to win anything, just gonna learn as much as possible.

One thing I could tell you is that I found it on www.mma.tv under the state of New Jersey. TATAME School is the one ima check out today. Should be a great learning experience.

Aesopian I will always be a white belt so i'll wear it with honor :). Speaking portuguese might also give me an extra boost on picking up more techniques :).

You're lucky you got it before we stitched that giant cobra patch on the back.

Weird... I watched the BJJ class last night.. the "guest gi" was clean...

the high school wrestler who was doing the trial lesson PWNED the fatass
white belt and got choked effortlessly by the purples...

And he came up grinning and begging for more... It was bootiful!

I absolutely loved it. I'm considering dropping Kung Fu and joining this school and a Muay Thai instructor should be giving available classes soon, so ill cross train between them. They also offer Kyokushin Karate. One step closer for me to becoming a pro fighter now :). I picked up techniques really quick due to my experience in Kung Fu, but really I couldnt compare how much more real, this stuff was. I could feel that my opponent would not give up and I had to use most of my strength in order to get out of the position (think it was called side mount). Maybe very soon ill be seeing some of you guys on the NAGA events here in the tri state area :).

It seemed very natural to be doing Brazillian Jiu Jitsu compared to Kung Fu. Techniques were easy to figure out but then again I wasnt doing anything to advanced. One Takedown and Two sweeps baby!

Name of the school is called Renzo Gracie Jiu Jitsu Newark NJ. Instructors name is Ricardo Bittencourt.
