I'm watching the K1 Grand Prix Chamionships at the moment and just finished watching the above two fight.
I'll be honest, it was sort of embarrasing. 1st round, Sapp runs out and lets rip with a load of wild clubbing blows. Hoost keeps making good contact. After 30 seconds, Sapp is exhausted and gets the crap kicked out of him for the rest of the round.
2nd round is the same, except Sapp gets his breath back after 1 minutes, corners Hoost, and then keeps twatting him in the face till the ref stops the match.
It just goes to show that being unskilled, talentless and hopelessly unfit is no reason to not win. Admittedly, having a 70 kg weight advantage probably helped.
I'll post again when Sapp has his second match.

Hmmm... and now for the next twist.... Ernesto Hoost went through to the second round, instead of Bob Sapp. No explanation or anything.
His fight against Ray Sefo didn't last very long either, Sefos shin caught Hoosts knee, and Sefo dropped like a stone.
I'm all confused now....

Ahh.. it appears that when Eurosport say that K1 is "Exclusive" to them, they actually mean they'll show it 3 weeks after the event.
Well silly me for not following the MMA diary more closely.
I'll get my coat.

When is Sapp gonna learn to fight? I know he's HUGE but come on. The novelty is gonna wear off eventually.

On second thought, I kinda like it this way. If he learns to fight, no one will get in the ring with him.

It was funny watching him just swing away. It didn't look like he was doing much, but each arm must of weighed 20 kg or something. Theres just no way you can absorb that sort of punishment.
So, what striking art should Bob learn? Obviously he should learn sumo for the grappling, but the one time he raised a leg to attempt a kick, he tired himself out.
Once he does learn to fight, or at least stops wheezing for breath partway through a round, it will actually put MMAs to the test.

He should learn Track and Field so he doesn't gas every match. Then, his opponents will have to come to me to learn Glock-ryu Gun Fu in order to stand a chance.

I dunno, a taser would still make him dance funny.

Sapp broke his hand in the match against hoost.
Hoost replaced Semmy Schilt, who was injured.
It is a little rediculous that he then went on to win the tournament, but he did prove to still be the best in the final two matches against sefo and le banner.

Just goes to show how important size/weight is doesn't it.

Hoost is one of the best strikers in the world and Sapp twatted him.

He also nearly broke Nog's neck using pure brute force.
