The Florida Mcthrowdown is finally taking place! We are lucky enough to have Darkson provide us with a great location to host florida's throwdown this June. Matted floors and even a cage! So far there is quite a large crowd expected to attend,with some interesting MA backgrounds. The date appears to be finalizing at the first week of June and once we can all decide on the specific day then it will be posted here and on the "tournament" thread. I am going to be bringing a grill to have a BBQ afterwards at a local park, if anyone is interested. There will be cameras and vido recorders there as well. Hope to see many of you there.

If anyone in south fl and above needs a ride, I will be comming from miami/ ft lauderdale so I have no problem picking people up on the way to jacksonville. Post here if you live in fl and would like to attend and transportation is an issue, we will try to work something out.

I definitely plan on making it, I'll be coming from Ft Walton Beach (next door to Pensacola). I'll bring something for the BBQ. . .

Sunday the 6th will be the best day because the facilities will be at our full disposal. The gym does close earlier on Sunday 6pm. but there wont be anyone there but us.

We are inside a Golds Gym so there will be people working out but not in the dojo.

Sun the 6th sounds good to me. Im drooling thinking of grilled corn on the cob and ribs.

So is this just taking place on the 6th or is it the 5th AND 6th? We are only about an hour away in Gainesville and have friends in Jax so a two day event would be awesome. Hell...even if the main day is Sunday and some people want to play on Saturday and you can pull it off, we will be there!

I'm looking forward to meeting some fellow...'shidoers...learning from some new people...and getting pounded on a bit....oh yea...BBQ makes the pain go away!

A two day thing sounds fine, its up to whoever wants to stay and whether or not we have a place to chill or not. maybe even having the bbq on the day preceding/after the throwdown.

Hey Bad News...since I've already got an ex and some other friends in Jax, how about this? You can sit nonchalantly on the side near the chickies "rehydrating" and casually mention something like, "You see that tall dude? He is like a world champion kickboxer and is undefeated in MMA...he is about to go Pro and fight in Japan. Everyone here is scared to fight him, so I said I would". Then we get in the ring and I act like I'm beating the crap out of you...then you pull a Rocky...come back...start punishing me...knock me down...and then choke me out (like you did to Rickson). Man, you will be the stud of the event to the females...and you know chicks dig kickboxers with Buddy Holly glasses! How does that sound?
