Short notice, but in case anybody feels like getting red I will be teaching a clinic next week.
I am also planning on being there. I'm really looking forward to training Sombo for the first time.
It's going to be a great time, man. Tomorrow you should have plenty of folks to throw around. Also, will you be showing the proper Garuda Bird technique?
Make sure Arron teaches jig'gen for squid ;P
Yes, ask him about it = me answering before someone questions me ;P
On my way right now. Might be late because of the rain.
Wow, what an amazing time spent on methodology moreso than just technique. Aaron, Grant, thanks so much for working on the Why rather than the What. As always it was great to see y'all. Thanks to JNP, The_Beak, Pat and Blackmonk for rolling out and playing. I especially appreciated the principle to direct application. Those breakdowns are fantastic! I will definitely be drilling them at my club. I can't wait to train with y'all again.
Thank you Coach Aaron and Coach Grant. Aaron, your principle based approach impressed me to no end. I feel fortunate for the opportunity to train with you. Thanks to you, for the first time after several previous attempts, I understand what Osoto Gari should look and feel like.
Coach Grant, thank you for your advice. Both you and Coach Aaron had some excellent pointers for some of the bad habits I've developed when throwing people.
Naszir, thank you for your assistance as well. You continue to impress me with your dedication and improvement in standing and ground grappling. Whether you realize it or not, you are one of my throwing coaches too.
Beak, good to see you brother. Central Texas throwdown, you and me, finding a way to make it happen.
Hell'va good time and was great to meet in person folks that I have gotten to "know" on this here internet. For those that are unclear Texas hospitality is alive and well.
Nazir, as always it was great to see you. JNP somehow I reckon' (see I learned a thing or two too..) we will practice together again soon.
Beak good to meet you and the Salt Lick is no joke.....
Grant was good enough to host and nobody went away without a hug.
Anytime you are up in Sea-Town consider my gym home.
A big thank you to Coach Aaron and Coach Grant for taking the time to put together one hell of a seminar and Donate all proceeds to a local charity. You guys are a cut above.
I take back all the mean and hurtful things I ever said about the two of you. :)
Coach Aaron I can't say enough good things about your approach to teaching. Get yourself back to Texas as soon as you can.
To the rest of my Bullshido Brethren:
JNP and Naszir it was great to see you guys.
And Blackmonk it was good to meet you.
And yes we must have a Texas TD soon.
It was a great event and we raised money for charity and had fun in the process. All proceeds went to assist local burn victims.
Aaron- there is a reason you are VP of the ASA. Your skill sets and teaching style are inspirational to coaches like me. You truly are a coach’s coach.
I am also glad more people are learning about the ASA and what a fantastic organization it is and also seeing the greatness of methodology that Sambo has to offer. I am very proud of it and happy to do my part to spread the word.
ECS will continue to represent the ASA and further build a Sambo presence by bringing only the best Sambo talent to Texas via seminar, Tournaments, Clinics extra.
For my Jiu-Jitsu brothers, All of you are welcome to come train and learn some new skills to add to your current skill sets. ECS MMA is open to all that have a good attitude and are willing to share knowledge.
Everyone can expect many more Sambo events in the future.
Man, I had a great time. Funny how Aaron and I are obsessed with the same foot sweep... It's a sign of genius.
