I just saw this on another forum
Are these things safe for endurance exercises? I want to get one but for exercises like swimming, running, pushups, pullups, etc.
That 100'lb'r looks NIIIICEEE. I'll definitely save up and get one IF they're safe for those type exercises.
I'd honestly probably wear it even when not exercising too. I do that a lot with ankle weights and wrist weights too.
Have fun swimming in a 100lb vest! LMAO :D
Seriously, anyone ever use these.
Yeh, I usually use them during pullups/road work/shadow boxing. They seem to improve speed and technique during moving. But seriously, jump roping with the vest was probably close to impossible. I use a 150 lb vest and I'm 130 so it helps me keep posture in the clinch. Pretty useful, but it won't really hurt if you don't have it.
Avoid training that will put any impact on your body while you're wearing it. For example, Running is a bad idea, because you'll be messing with you knees. Walking is okay, though. My ruck can get up to around 80 lbs and walking with it for many miles doesn't hurt, but running with it on is minimal (300 meters at a time).

You weigh 130 and you wear a 150 lb vest? You can still do pullups and run with that?
I almost ruined my knees running with a heavy ruck sack. Dumb dumb dumb.
The **** you think you're immune to at 22 will catch back up to you when you're 29.

What Phrost said. BTW Phrost, go do your squats!
:D
Too much impact on knees with the added weight....
Um......eliptical walker?
God I hate squats. Deadlifts: all day long, but Squats I just can't seem to do very well.
Current max with squats is in the low 200s.
Max with deadlift? 410x3 on the Hammer Strength machine.

A vest can over time crush down your rib cage.
Try a scuba belt.
I have a metal shot scuba belt that weighs 30lbs.
Its also at your center of gravity.
At times I have worn in under loose clothing all ay.
More opinions on weight vests.

I tried swimming with wrist weights on, and it was just awkward as all hell, maybe a weight vest wouldn't be as detrimental to my stroke, but whatever you do, don't try to swim with wrist or hand weights, or foot weights, you're asking for it.

Maybe rather then upping the amount of weight they are carrying around, they should up the intensity.
