Julia Budd vs. Ronda Rousey - Cuz Ronda, that's why

While I don't want to take away from another amazing show of takedown skill and athleticism, I think that we saw here that Ronda's entry is a little sloppy. She admitted that she got tagged more than she should, especially given how dominant she was once they did clinch up.

I don't mean to pick nits, as so far this has been the only chink in her armor, and one she easily overcame with a hard nose and a solid chin. But, against a 145er known for her knockout power, like the fantasy match we've all been talking up, it is a problem the Rowdy one will need to address.

I would have put that in the thread specifically about Miss Rousey but it got creepy in there by YMAS standards.

Omg that arm! Her striking does need major work, but holy **** that armbar! Damnit what a display of dominant grappling.

"Rousey by Armbar" will now become the dominant message board meme for ladies' MMA.

So, any of the west coast bullies who train with Ronda think they can help me out? I'd like to try and get an interview with her before Thanksgiving and I get the impression that if I go through the usual channels they'll put me off until after the holiday. I'll just refer the interview to a colleague of mine if that's how it goes but I'd kind of like to get that done while Julia's arm is still in our nightmares.

That should be called a "Ronda-bar(takedown->armbar)": 10x nastier than normal armbar. I am happy she ended the fight this time with no controversy. Now can we have her do rematch with Sarah D'Alelio? Let's see how long it takes this time for D'Alelio to REALLY tap.

Pfft, what's the point of that rematch? She should move on to bigger fights.

**** that armbar made me cringe! She definitely needs to step up her striking but damn do I feel sorry for anyone that ends up on the ground with her. Way to go Rowdy!

my count says 40 seconds flat. yeah, her striking needs work, but she still hasn't been taken past one minute in the ring.

I don't see much of a controversy in her last fight since the opponent later admitted to a verbal tap.

edit: and wtf is up with my name?
