For one I've boxed alot, especially when I was younger, I find that the Systema punches are harder and more effective than the boxing punches that I can throw. Maybe its the principles of systema that have been coupled with my boxing technique the point is they hurt more now, I think. With a systema punch I dont have to raise my arms up into stance, they can be thrown from my hips while my arms are hanging from my side. It makes them alot harder to see coming. Also the point of the relaxed strike being more effective is so true that if you say differently you dont know what your talking about, but I only learned that from real boxers so maybe they dont know.:)

I agree with what your sayin Vargas and I myself am in pretty good shape. More strength wise than cardio. But you really cant make a sweeping judgment like that. Although your critique of somone is valid I also might have said the same thing abou Ryabko. Jellyman who I train with could lose some weight but one thing is sure he definetly could kick my ass and I would never have thought so from looking at him. So I will say that there are exceptions to the rule if you wanna call it that. Experience and technique is the key to anything, Also I would like to say the right punch at the right time from even a street fighter can definetly knock somone out and there are to many instances to recount. Lewis got knocked out by that guy that he latter came back and demolished. Liddel who was definetly losing threw the nastest overhead telegraphed punch and it just landed perfectly, that was it. Luck maybe but anyone who knows about fighting will say its only percentages nothing is a 100% in the ring or life.

It's actually a difficult task to argue with 3 morons all at the same time. Maybe noone has addressed your posts because they haven't furthered the discussion in any way.

1. Look no one would be getting pissed if you where not being rude, if you cant figure that out go back and read your posts. It also helps to have some perspective. How old do you think these people are?

My advise - ignore the insults, just keep it polite and rational. They only mean to goad you into something rash, like when we attack the arms - punishment moves that only work against tension.

I am saying that kihon isn't all there is to karate, and systema's emphasis on kihon is less.


Who said Kihon is all there is to karate? I am aware Systema doesn't focus on it? What's your point?

If Systema DOES teach you to throw a good punch, that's great too. I sure couldn't tell that from those video clips though.


Although it isn't kyokushin or boxing, so I'm sure it will be 'wrong'.
