Not sure if this is the right place to post this. I've gotten a few leads off of the internet. But not exactly sure what to look for.
One place said they also teach Wing Chun/JKD and has "self defense" plastered on their website. I know many MA schools advertise like this. But I'm simply looking to learn Muay Thai. Not "the deadly" or any type of Kung Fu garbage.
I'm aware Im getting older. And that I might not become one of their top competitors starting this late. But I can at least become a good tough training partner, and eventually help instruct new guys after some time.
So my questions are: What should I look for?,(as well as look out for), and does anyone know of any good gyms in my area?
There's a serious lack of Muay Thai in Seattle. MKG in Northgate could be an option (might be the JKD place you mentioned). C3 Everett (Charlie's Combat Club) could be an option. I'm blanking on much else, and can't really speak for either of those clubs as I don't know too much about their kickboxing programs.

MKG doesnt have a fight team, blab about "Kung Fu", and advertises "non-competetive atmosphere".
C3; A friend of mine left their school a few years ago when he got reprimanded for doing Judo throws.
If I was just looking for a good boxing/kickboxing gym,CCMA would surely be the one. Its in south Everett, and is a sweat pit.

Just go train and have fun, no everyone needs to get in the ring.
Why don't you post the websites of the gyms (if they have) so we can have a look?
Here's a thread for you, stickied in the Newbietown forum:
Finding a good martial arts school
Muay Thai Seattle Llc 500 East Roy Street, Seattle, WA 98102-5974
boxing gyms, some of whom may have MT.
There's a similar thread here, but they didn't have much luck.

In North Seattle to Everett there is a serious lack of anything except TKD. There are almost as many TKD places as Starbucks.
hey there i am also searching the mua thai gym in my area but i never find.
A couple guys in My shop and in my Company train at some schools I'll get there names and locations and programs this week...I'm not training as I'm working on improving my run from an injury and getting off the fat body program....martial arts will be my reward for getting my body to standard.
