This thread is growing out of the Battle of the Alamo throwdown thread. I'm making it a new thread to try to gather more attention. The recent San Antonio mini-throwdown only had about 4 of us, which is fine because it was on short notice. In that thread, there was a number of people who wished they could make it, but the date didn't work for them. There were also several more who wanted to attend a throwdown, but San Antonio was too far away.

I figure the best way to get a large throwdown is to begin planning as far in advance as possible. From the general information in the last thread, it seems that generally, the timeframe that would work for the greatest number of people would be somewhere between roughly August and October. As for location, either the Dallas or Houston area seems to be ideal.

If you're interested in attending a Throwdown of significant size, please post here and let us know. Please try, if you know in advance, to include what dates would be best, and how far you might be willing to travel if we get it put together.

For me, any dates can be made to work if I have some notice. Weekends are best, and summer would be preferable, but I can make just about anything work. For travel, I'd be willing to travel as far as Dallas to the north or Houston to the east. Possibly farther if there's a large turnout.

Yes the next TD I plan I'm going to try and NOT just pull a date out of my ass and hope everyone shows up. My reasoning was to cut out the bargaining that goes with picking a date and just post one and hope people show.

My only other excuse is that the TD was my evil plot to grow my Judo club by two guys.

Yikes August or Dallas I maybe here in Texas or halfway around the country, but a July or June date would work amazing.

I'm open to June or July. All depends really on how many people want to come, and what dates work for most.

Sure, there is a number of Bullshidoka in Austin. If that's where we can get the most people, then great. I just mentioned Dallas and Houston because they were requested by posters in the other thread. If we do end up in Dallas or something, it's entirely possible we could find someone to give you a ride. Hell, I'd do it.

I would really like a Texas Sized throw down. I did find a group on this site for Austin but i think the group is dead. Well I should not say that, I think life just gets in the way. I am off today and can't wait untill class starts Most of my sorness has gone away. Taking a shower as hot as you can works wonders.

Try ice baths. I've recently discovered the joys of screaming like a little girl and shivering uncontrollably. On the up-side, most aches and pains just magically disappear until the next time.

I can make most dates during the summer except July 23-29 and the week in August that Camp Skeletor (can't find the dates right now) is being held. I'm willing to go to San Antonio, Dallas or Houston.

The next texas throwdown should take place in the wave pool at the Shlitterbahn waterpark in New Braunfels

I'm up for pretty much any time. I would prefer Dallas as it is just easier to drive to (only about 4 hours instead of the 8 for Houston or even more for Austin).

Fantastic. So far, I'm liking the idea of Dallas if it gets us a broader range of participants, especially from out of town.

Anyone here who knows of other TX folks on Bullshido, I humbly request that you point them in the direction of this thread. The more participants, the better.

Probably dead for a while because they recently organized something perhaps. I say, go join the Austin group and chat em up. If anyone's interested, either find out what their willingness is, or point them to this thread. I'd like to see a major turnout worth the drive, and hopefully get some good vids and pics worth showing off on Bullshido.
