At the start of the season, I figured "Bruce Leroy" to be a decent-natured kid who had a lot of raw talent. I shrugged off the comparisons to the previous season's afro'd asshole, Jamie Yager.
However, the producers are sure doing a hell of a job trying to convince us that "Leroy" is also an asshole. This should tell you two things.
1. The TUF producers are completely out of ideas (watch out for the return of The Ultimate Lumberjack competition from Season 1).
2. If you're a quasi-black male fighter, get a haircut as soon as you make the season cast. Although it's probably a good idea to grow one out for a few months prior to try-outs.

The big difference is I actually thought Jamie Yaegar could back his **** up. Instead not only did he puss out he over acted and got a free hospital trip out of it.
Bruce Leroy just looks bad and awkward, talks **** and was winning. If he were to make it to the finals..that would just feel wrong. In any event, the clock strikes 12 tonight for dude.
Dead-on assessment of that situation.
I have to admit I'm rooting for Leroy to lose; we don't need any more "characters" in MMA. It's starting to look like a bad cross between the WWE and Jersey Shore as it is.

I'm sure if Leroy doesn't get snapped this round of fights, he definately will in the semi's. I'd love to see Brookins flip him into oblivion.
As it is, I think Johnson will be enough to deal with him.
In regards to the producers re-hashing the same ol' - maybe. They may look for applicants with similar traits/personalities to old TUF contestants, but they were likely just looking for guys who were "characters", and would make the interaction between fighters interesting for most viewers.
Perhaps even a bit of both.
What kinda annoys me is that there has been less of a focus on what the guys do in preparation for their fights - I was interested in how they cut weight, what drills they ran through, etc. Is it just me, or does there seem to be less of that then a few seasons ago...?

It isn't just you; the only time we get a clue that these guys aren't living day to day at their fighting weight is when someone happens to be wearing a sauna suit while they talk about something else. As much as I hate The Contender, it's better in this regard than TUF.

Unfortunately it doesn't make for good television(unless it's some fatass desperately trying to cut 15 pounds in one night) and TUF is all about pulling in the ratings. It was obvious from the get-go this season was going to be more about the "drama" then the training and coaching, and what little they showed at the beginning slowly got whittled down to make room for trash talk.
You have to remember TUF is not aimed at fans like us, it's aimed at the casual fan and the dudes chanel surfing during prime time. Most episodes I don't even bother with until the fight.

I totally agree - I just feel that they had a pretty good balance of training, drama, trash talk and fights a few seasons ago. That way chaps such as ourselves who really enjoy the training and fighting of high level fighters can watch the first 20 minutes of the show, and the casual observer can get his fill of drama and trash talk, and maybe be educated on MMA and fighting in general along the way.
But, of course, this is just wishlisting. It's down to the producers...
At the very least, we may get a couple of talented fighters join the UFC at the end of the season, and thats always a good thing.

Ok...I admit I didn't watch the whole thing...I only watched from the Bruce Leroy fight on so this may seem like a stupid question....but why is Kosheck so pissed off at GSP about the fight saying the fight sucked.

Do you think anyone of us understand what Kosheck does?

Just wondering does anyone think that Kosheck has even a slight chance against GSP?

I think if Kosheck pantses GSP and he trips and knocks his head on the ground...he'd probably still beat Kosheck

Kos is just pissed because he finally realized just how badly GSP has out-maneuvered him. I still think Phan is going to be a finalist but St. Pierre has gotten the match-ups he wanted and has gotten his stronger fighters through. I calling Team GSP for the win this season.

I was kinda thinking that Bruce Leroy was going to get squashed....now I like have respect for the guy. Damnit! I'm sure he was getting cut up to sound like a douche. He seemed like he was only fighting Mark to prove that he belonged there.
Kosh saying the fight sucked seemed odd...and it also seemed like he was crapping on his own fighter.
I'd just like to see Koschek seeing the video of him flipping out and choking the paramedic, to realize he was the instigating asshole in the situation, which is contrary to his story of "i was just sitting there minding my business when all of a sudden there was a hand in my face".
Well, that went exactly as expected. Down to the "I hated his guts, but now we've fought and we are ok." And the squealing that Koschek made.

Kos is astonishingly stupid. I really can't wait for GSP to beat his ass. I hope GSP has a line for him after the fight - something as good as "I was not impress wit yer perform-ants."
PS - Where is the male nurse?
It's gotta be Brookins at the top of the heap this year. Nam Phan has a good chance in his next fight, but I don't think he (or anyone else) has a chance in the final.
