C'mon. And the school name. You said I don't know why the school is called that. I didn't say that.
No, but when asked what the school's name was Tiger Claw you didn't answer except to say that signs shouldn't be believed and that it was a good thing that the sign was inaccurate.
Someone who a) did know why the school was named tiger claw and b) was interested in defending the school, wouldn't have behaved in that way. Funny how this is so perplexing for you, yet you also decided that I asked for palm changes and circle walking in order to trip you up rather than because I wanted to see you perform these things on video. So in once instance you're unable to conceive of anything other than a plain false-value simple-language reading of English, just a moment later you're capable of sensing some sort of rhetorical trickery?
Very clever -10.
Anyway, I dropped the school an email. I hope that someone will be along soon either to fetch you as you're not representing your school well at all, or to tell us that you're not a serious student (or perhaps a student of a rival school).

Oh leave his spelling alone he is making the same mistake as American English speakers.
It was the structure and the specific words and the points he was trying to make ... it was like listening to an indoctrinated North Korean explain philosophy.
Speaking of which may I now quote a famous Philosoraptor from reddit.

Oh I agree but, spelling is the least of our worries. The guy is telling stories like the movie Fearless Hyena.
Don't name the school.
Don't show the fighting style.
Don't do it or you'll be killed dead.

10/14/2010 1:14pm,
I just saw someone elses reply in regards to the name and such. The name of a school means nothing. It can reflect the name of the art or not. Again the context is......if we believe everyone out their.... on the basis of the sign that hangs out front or that they even know what they are doing or teaching is legit ..we as consumers are really fooling ourselves.
C'mon guys,... there are so many people in this industry that are fakes. Isnt't that one of the reasons you started this sight....because of all the BS as you put it. Now people criticize someone who gives honest info to someone askiing a question. UNREAL
You just said that old schools as I'll put it don't really advertise and are not generally known to the public. Read your question or observation over again. You just asked why it is not advertised as a BAGUA school or mentioned in its' name. That answers your question. If you polled people in Wpg as to whether the school was a BAGUA school or not,...they WOULD NOT KNOW. I do it all the time. No one for the most part has ever heard of BAGUA. In this forum...maybe ....the general population.... NO. That is won of the beauties of the school. There never has been advertising such as other schools, yet has thrived for decades. That is almost a contrdiction is business...isn't it?? Is it making sense yet?
It is an absolute GEM in Wpg. I'm glad everyone and his dog aren't there!
I honestly do not know how to respond to this as the logic is just not there. I guess you feel it's best to respond to my question with a riddle.
You cannot compare your school's name which is obviously a part of itsr marketing strategy to a non-commercial instructor teaching out of his house upon referral only. But nice strawman there.
In reality, most people are going to see "Kung Fu" and nothing else, so no problem putting bagua in front of kung fu. OR -- they will go home, google "Tiger Claw Kung Fu", see that there is a specific style with the same name, and think that's what you guys teach. That's what I thought when I saw this thread, until you mentioned that you are primarily a bagua school.
Does your school teach authentic bagua? Do you walk the circle?

Isn’t that a great fish drawing right there <----
Too put off by Fu-Jows excessive use of ellipses (more than every final fantasy protagonist put together) and lack of paragraphs but just thought I'd say I think it's a cool drawing :icon_rr:

Fu Jow,
Seeing as this has now hit YMAS (and seems headed for Trollshido), I think it appropriate that I translate my original comments and questions into a form that you might be more capable of understanding.
Hello Mr Jow. Welcome to Bullshido. I'll try to get this across as quickly as possible. It may therefore come out as rude. Not my intention.
Translation: You seem like the sort of idiot that gets offended by the concept of proof, so I'll stroke your ego a bit in the hopes of getting some first hand info on this school.
No one here knows you, therefore we have no basis for trust. Sorry, that's the interwebz for you.
Translation: Proof or STFU.
If you have never even thought of training anywhere else, how do you know there is not anything better out there?
Translation: You are, by your own admission, incapable of comparing your school to any other. Why then do you go right ahead and do so anyway? Are you an idiot?
This may be true. It may be false. You have provided no evidence, so refer to my previous point about trust. You might also want to refer to the "Bullshidoka Arguments" thread that is stickied in this forum.
Translation: Not only have you failed to back up your claims with evidence, your communication style precisely imitates that of a retarded bullshit artist.
We have regular posters who practice both these styles (as well as an entire forum devoted to CMA). The general attitude you will find here is an emphasis on alive training methods and competitive verification of student skill rather than a focus on "authentic" style.
Translation: We know enough about these styles to realise that you are talking out of your arse.
Again, if you have not tried anything else, then what is the basis for your assertion about what other schools do?
Translation: You're quite stupid, aren't you?
Now would probably be the time to point out that a block of text is very hard to read. Many people will see the block, assume you are illiterate, extrapolate that you are ignorant, then not bother with your post.
Translation: I think that you are illiterate, ignorant, and stupid.
It is often difficult for a prospective student to know how to judge the quality of a CMA school due to the lack of standardised rankings. One good yardstick is a competition record. Most of us have seen impressive performances of CMA practicioners competing under the "San Shou" ruleset. Can you refer us to any competitions where the school has acquired this reputation for never "loosing"?
Translation: At the very least, we're going to need to see some non-compliant sparring. Given your claims of superiority, however, competition footage or records would be better. Because I think you are full of ****.
Or do you just have awesome streetfighting anecdotes?
Translation: No one cares about your unsubstantiated bullshit.
Yes, I would be surprised. Again, read the "Bullshidoka Arguments" thread.
Translation: You are full of ****.
I hope that you are in a position to actually provide some hard evidence to this thread. Seeing as you ressurected it after five months of dormancy. We would all be delighted to find a good CMA school.
Translation: Proof or STFU.
Look dickhead, we know that you think the school is good. You go there. What we want to know is why we should believe you.
Before you started posting, we knew next to nothing about your school. We still don't. All that has been established is that you are an idiot, a liar, or both.

As far as delusional goes as an artist;....I've worked on projects for the Junos and engineered them in my own studio,......(not a bedroom with a keyboard). Played for,... and did keyboard (synth) programming for other artists. I have two albums in the works and I'm waiting to hear back from Warner Bros. in LA in regards to a certain artwork venture. GEE,.. just off a little from what you thought you knew or were insinuating. Apology accepted.
This is exactly what I mean. People often speak about things they may not know about, and lead to an untruth for others to believe. NOW , READ CAREFULLY AND SLOWLY,....IF YOU DON'T FALL UNDER THIS SIDE OF THE CONTEXT OF THE THE CONVERSATION THEN IT DOES NOT APPLY TO YOU. That`s great.

Did they say "don't call us, we'll call you"? If so, I hope you're in earshot of your phone, because they could be trying to ring right now! Maybe you should check your messages again to be safe.

You complete prick.
Post some evidence of your claims or **** off.
No, not the "artist" derail.
The claims regarding your school.
Video of training to back up your claim that it is the best.
Video/records of competition to back up your claims that your style does not "loose....ever".
Do you have an actual reason for your opinion of your school?
If so, please share it with us.
In your next post.

I would actually prefer at this stage that he **** right off back into his cosy little world of fantasy, never to return. However, in the (extremely likely) event that he continues his ranting, I would just like it to include some verifiable facts.
So far, he has not posted one.
At this stage, we don't even know whether or not he is even a member of this school. He hasn't even established that.

So at best, very best you're a jobbing amateur. I'll take that with a pinch of salt as you have no proof.
Nice attempt at a derail, fucking wannabe.

My dad trained at the Tiger Claw dojo back in '79 or '80. Apparently it was fairly hardcore at that point with *shock* actual contact sparring and entering tournaments. No "our art is too deadly to compete" bull. No idea what it's like now, but considering the number of years I lived in Winnipeg I probably should have checked it out.
